Pure Joy Weave Centre Open Sets the Pace for 2026 Chess Season

ZIMBABWE’s chess season will begin with a fresh burst of energy when the Pure Joy Weave Centre Chess Open gets underway from January 1 to 4 in Harare.

The nine-round tournament, to be played at the Harare Club Hotel, will feature Open, Ladies, and Development sections, giving players of all levels a chance to start the year over the board.

Organised by Zim Chess Consultancy and sponsored by Pure Joy Weave Centre, the event carries a US$3,000 prize fund, with US$700 set aside for the Open section winner.
