Afghanistan Level T20 Series Against Zimbabwe

AFGHANISTAN defeated Zimbabwe by 50 runs in the second T20 match at Harare Sports Club, leveling the series

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a competitive total of 153/6 in 20 overs. Darwish Rasooli top-scored with 58 runs off 42 balls, while Azmatullah Omarzai and Gulbadin Naib contributed 28 and 26 runs, respectively.

Zimbabwe’s Ryan Burl and Trevor Gwandu took 2 wickets each, with Burl conceding 16 runs in 3 overs and Gwandu giving away 29 runs in 4 overs.

In response, Zimbabwe struggled with the bat, losing wickets regularly. Sikandar Raza top-scored with 35 runs off 30 balls, while Brian Bennet added 27 runs. However, Zimbabwe’s innings ended at 103 runs in 17.4 overs, 50 runs short of Afghanistan’s target.

Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq and Rashid Khan were the destroyers-in-chief, taking 3 wickets each. Naveen-ul-Haq conceded 20 runs in 4 overs, while Rashid Khan gave away 20 runs in 4 overs.

The series is now tied 1-1, setting the stage for a thrilling decider tomorrow at Harare Sports Club.
