THE much-anticipated Chibuku Road to Fame competition is back from September 28 to 09 November, ready to uncover and honour the latest generation of musical talent in Zimbabwe.
This prestigious platform, which has been in existence for more than 20 years, has a proven track record of identifying and nurturing exceptional up-and-coming artists, providing them with the opportunity to shine on a national stage.
In partnership with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ), Chibuku Road to Fame is dedicated to promoting the growth of fresh talent and supporting the arts.
This competition not only serves as a launchpad for diverse talent but also provides Chibuku with a unique opportunity to engage with and entertain consumers across the nation.
Running from 28 September to 09 November, Chibuku Road to Fame will embrace the theme “Bvirarira, Tshay’iNgoma,” which translates to “Strength in Unity, Power in Music.”
This theme emphasises the power of music to bring people together and celebrate their shared love for the arts.
Competitors can look forward to cash prizes at both provincial and national levels of the competition:
- Provincial Final prizes:
- 1st Prize: USD2,500
- 2nd Prize: USD1,500
- 3rd Prize: USD1,000
- National Final prizes:
- 1st Prize: USD15,000 plus a recording contract
- 2nd Prize: USD10,000
- 3rd Prize: USD7,500
The competition will commence with 10 provincial finals held throughout Zimbabwe, culminating in a grand finale in Harare.
Participation in Chibuku Road to Fame requires registration with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, ensuring that the competition remains accessible to aspiring artists across the country.
