Chizondo who is not new to football administration having cut her teeth as a media and communications personality for the FC Platinum institution. She is up against tough opposition from Black Rhinos Queens chairpeson, Col. Nthokoziso Moyo for the top post.

Interim chairpeson Theresa Maguraushe is not seeking re-election.

Chizondo reflects her commitment to transforming women’s football in Zimbabwe.

“Let this manifesto be the spark that ignites a legacy of empowerment, excellence, and equality,” Chizondo stated.

“Together, let us empower the girl child through football. Let us invest, support, and grow women’s football for the pride of Zimbabwe.”

Her vision is built on core values of equity, excellence, transparency, community inclusion, and empowerment.

One key initiative Chizondo plans to implement is the establishment of a “Women in Football Empowerment Fund” to support players post-retirement.

“We want to provide financial assistance and career development opportunities for players after they hang up their boots,” she explained.

This fund will be a safety net for our players, ensuring they have a secure future beyond their playing careers.”

Chizondo also aims to make the league more sustainable by introducing a “bubble format” to reduce club expenses.

“We have seen how the bubble format has worked in other sports, and we believe it can be a game-changer for our league,” Chizondo said.

“By reducing costs and streamlining operations, we can make the league more attractive to sponsors and fans.”

To increase visibility and engagement, Chizondo plans to launch live streaming platforms and weekly highlights shows.

“We want to showcase the talent and excitement of women’s football to a wider audience,” she explained.

“By broadcasting our matches and highlights, we can attract new fans and build a stronger following.”

Chizondo’s strategic plan also includes developing school and community football grounds, especially in rural and high-density suburbs.

“We want to provide opportunities for girls and women to play football in every corner of the country,” she said.

“By developing grassroots infrastructure and programs, we can build a stronger foundation for women’s football in Zimbabwe.”

Good governance is also a key aspect of Chizondo’s vision. She plans to establish an independent board with transparent decision-making processes and engage with government ministries, the private sector, and other stakeholders to support women’s football.

“Every stakeholder bears responsibility,” she emphasised.

“From boardroom to grassroots, we pledge to operate transparently, adapt with humility, and celebrate every milestone no matter how small.”

Chizondo’s commitment to accountability and transparency is reflected in her plan to publish biannual “State of Women’s Football” reports and convene an annual strategy review summit.

“We want to be accountable to our stakeholders and ensure that we’re delivering on our promises,” she explains.
