TWO senior Zimbabwean football administrators are flying the country’s flag at a key regional workshop aimed at strengthening women’s football.
Zimbabwe Football Association vice president Loveness Wadzanai Mukura and Zimbabwe Women Premier Soccer League chairperson Chido Chizondo are representing Zimbabwe at the COSAFA Women Leadership and Administration Workshop in South Africa.
The three-day programme brings together women football leaders from across Southern Africa to sharpen their leadership and management skills.
Mukura and Chizondo’s participation is seen as important in shaping the future of the local women’s game.
Mukura said the workshop offers Zimbabwe a chance to learn from other countries in the region.
“This workshop is a great opportunity for us to learn and share experiences with other women leaders in football. We are committed to improving women’s football in Zimbabwe and this workshop will help us formulate strategies and objectives to achieve that,” she said.
The workshop is organised by COSAFA in partnership with the Confederation of African Football.
As representatives of Zimbabwe’s football structures, Mukura and Chizondo are expected to bring back practical ideas that can strengthen leadership, planning and growth of women’s football at home.
