President Mnangagwa Calls on Youths to Seize Destiny, Shun Destructive Paths

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has issued a powerful challenge to Zimbabwe’s youth, urging them to take ownership of their future and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s prosperity.
Speaking at the Munhumutapa Day commemoration in Mapanzure, Zvishavane, which coincided with his 83rd birthday celebrations, the President emphasized the critical role young people play in shaping the country’s economic trajectory.
“The youth of our motherland must work tirelessly, leveraging available support systems like youth funds to drive economic growth,” President Mnangagwa declared.
“Seize opportunities in value addition and beneficiation – no sector is off-limits. Your potential is boundless, but it must be harnessed with purpose and discipline.”
The President sounded a stark warning against the perils of drug and substance abuse, stressing its corrosive impact on individual and national identity.
“Drugs will derail your God-given purpose, eroding the very fabric of our nation. Choose discipline, not destruction. Protect your integrity and that of Zimbabwe.”
The Munhumutapa Day event drew a broad cross-section of Zimbabweans, including government ministers, ZANU PF politburo members, legislators from various political affiliations, and members of the public, underscoring the significance of youth engagement in national development.
