DAY four of the Zim Afro T10 Season 2 was an exciting spectacle of power-packed performances, with Sikandar Raza, Najibullah Zadran, and Dasun Shanaka staking their claim as the stars of the day at Harare Sports Club on Tuesday.
In the first match, NYS Lagos won the toss and elected to bat, posting a formidable total of 134/5 in 10 overs. Najibullah Zadran’s blistering 43, including four sixes in a single over, and Avishka Fernando’s 36 were the highlights of the innings.
Durban Wolves, in their chase, were restricted to 124/5, thanks to some disciplined bowling by the Lagos team. Sharjeel Khan’s 59 and Regis Chakabva’s unbeaten 27 were not enough as the Wolves fell short by 10 runs.
The second match saw the David Warner-led Bulawayo Brave Jaguars take on Harare Bolts.
Jaguars were restricted to 96/8 in 10 overs, with Shehan Jayasuriya and Richard Gleeson picking up two wickets each.
In reply, Bolts chased down the total with seven wickets in hand, thanks to an unbeaten 47 from Dasun Shanaka, who sealed the win with four consecutive sixes.
The final match of the day saw Cape Town Samp Army take on the Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers.
Tigers’ bowling attack, led by Sikandar Raza’s figures of 3/9, restricted Samp Army to 82/7. Raza then took centre stage with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 64 to guide Tigers to a comfortable five-wicket win with more than an over to spare.
