SANY Starts Building First Solar Power Plant in Zimbabwe

Sany Silicon Energy has started building its first solar power plant in Zimbabwe. The project began on June 26th at Runtu Mining and marks an important step toward bringing clean, reliable electricity to the country.

The plant will produce 10 megawatts of electricity using powerful solar panels developed by Sany. The project is expected to be finished in just three months and connected to the national power grid by the end of 2025.

When it’s up and running, the plant will produce about 18 million kilowatt-hours of electricity every year. This will help reduce Zimbabwe’s power shortages and provide more stable electricity for homes, businesses, and industries.

The start of construction was celebrated at a special event attended by Mr. Guo Ruiguang, the chairman of Sany’s Africa Division. He said the company is proud to support Zimbabwe’s move toward clean energy.

This is also Sany’s first project in Africa using a new business model called “EP+F”, which means the company helps with engineering, equipment, and financing. This makes it easier and cheaper for companies to start clean energy projects, and Sany hopes this model will be used in other African countries too.

The chairman of Runtu Mining said he looks forward to working more with Sany in the future on other energy projects, like small solar power systems, electric trucks, and charging stations.

Sany Silicon Energy says this project is part of its effort to fight climate change and help more countries switch to clean energy. The company promised to build the plant to high standards and finish it on time. It also plans to work with more partners to bring clean energy to Zimbabwe and other countries around the world.
