THE partnership between Troika Design Workshop (TDW) and St George’s College has been hailed as a game-changer for the college’s cricket team.
TDW partner, Simanga Madhlabuta, revealed that the relationship was born out of TDW’s desire to give back to the community.
“As a business, TDW recognised the importance of supporting community initiatives, and sports was a natural fit,” said Madhlabuta.
“With several TDW partners being cricket enthusiasts themselves, it was only logical that we would choose to support the sport.”
The partnership has already yielded significant benefits for the college. Last year, TDW donated a state-of-the-art digital cricket scoreboard, which was fully funded by the company. This year, TDW has sponsored the college’s cricket kit for the season, and will also continue with their sponsorship for the CABS St George’s T20 tournament.
Madhlabuta added that TDW is committed to supporting the college for at least the next five years.
“We want to be there as long as we can,” he said.
“We’re excited to see the impact that our partnership will have on the college and its students.”
For TDW partner, Tinashe Chigwande, the partnership is personal. A self-proclaimed sports enthusiast, Tinashe grew up playing volleyball and credits the sport with teaching him valuable life skills.
“Sports teaches you how to work with others, how to communicate effectively, and how to overcome challenges,” Chigwande said.
“These are skills that are essential in business and life.”
Chigwande’s passion for sports is evident in his enthusiasm for the partnership.
“I’m thrilled to see TDW supporting St George’s College,” he said.
“It’s a partnership that will have a lasting impact on the college and its students.”
St George’s College Headmaster, John Farrelly, echoed Tinashe’s sentiments.
“We’re grateful for TDW’s support,” Farrelly said.
“The partnership is a testament to the power of collaboration and community spirit.”
