Chibuku Neshamwari Festival Heads to Victoria Falls and Chinhoyi This Weekend

THE Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival continues this weekend with provincial competitions set for Mashonaland West and Matabeleland North, as dance groups prepare to showcase their talents in two major cultural hubs.

Both events will take place on 13 June with performances starting at 12 noon.

In Matabeleland North, the provincial finals will be held at New Tavern Beerhall in Victoria Falls, where traditional dance groups from across the province are expected to compete for top honours.

At the same time, Mashonaland West will host its provincial finals at Yolla Bar in Chinhoyi, bringing together some of the province’s best traditional performers.

The competitions form part of the nationwide Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival, which continues to promote Zimbabwe’s cultural heritage through music, dance, and community participation.

Winners from both provinces will secure a place at the national finals scheduled for July 11, where they will compete against other provincial champions for the national title and prize money.

Organisers say the festival remains one of the country’s biggest cultural events, providing a platform for traditional dance groups to preserve and celebrate Zimbabwe’s diverse heritage.
