Poptain to release a single featuring Chillmaster & Atenda Chinx

ZIMDANCEHALL sensation artiste Poptain, real name Ameen Matanga, has been making waves in the local music industry with his unique blend of Zimdancehall and Afro-pop.

Better known as Yardbwoy, tommorow he will release a single featuring Chillmaster and Atenda Chinx inspired by the real emotions people go through in different stages of love.

Titled ‘‘Chikokoko’’, the song that will be released on YouTube, radio and TV, was produced by Major Terro and the video powered by Prince Nathan Entertainment based in United Kingdom.

Poptain Yardbwoy said the song examines the human heart.

“Chikokoko is about love but not just in a typical way. It’s a three way narrative. I’m the one expressing the feeling of being in love,” he said

“Chillmaster comes in hard, rejecting love completely with the line “don’t call me when love is mentioned,” and Atenda Chinx represents someone who is cautious but open to exploring love.

While our nation has been facing a lot of challenges including suicide over the Mjolo pandemic, many people struggle from depression and cannot find anything that can satisfy them completely, said Poptain.

Poptain said the song brings a unique emotional depth to his verses, although with Atenda Chinx, it was his first time working together.

“I had previously worked with Chillmaster on the track “Usandikanganwe” featuring Michael Magz, so we already had creative chemistry.

“I was drawn to Atenda Chinx with her fresh sound and the perspective she brings as a rising female artist. Her style complemented the theme of the song perfectly.

“The hardest part was making sure each perspective was clear without overshadowing the others. Balancing three strong voices in one song is always a challenge, but patience pays,” said Poptain.

Poptain has been gaining recognition for his hit songs, including collaborations such as “Kokai” featuring Nutty O, “Sota,” “Muchiuno,” “Fadza Mutengi,” “Ucharamba uchipisa” featuring Holy Ten & Michael Magz” and “Vafarisi” featuring Winky D and Bazooka.”

Behind Poptain’s success is his collaboration with Jah Master in the music industry, Jah Master the “Hello Mwari” Hitmaker.

Together, they have created a powerful partnership, creating and sharing live concert shows aroound the country and abroad as recently they did a show together in Dubai.
