DANet Leader Backs Constitutional Amendment No. 3, Calls It “Bridge to 2030”

DESTINY of Africa Network (DANet) leader Obadiah Msindo on Tuesday backed Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill, describing it as a “bridge” to help President Emmerson Mnangagwa finish flagship infrastructure projects and push Zimbabwe into a “new level of development.”

Reverend Msindo said the Bill aligns with National Development Strategy 2, which runs to 2030 and prioritizes roads, dams, and energy projects.

“This is a smart strategy for the country,” Msindo told journalists in Harare. “It will usher the nation into another level of development and bring perfection to our visionary leader, President Emmerson Mnangagwa. We strongly support it.”

His endorsement echoes ZANU PF Treasurer General Patrick Chinamasa, who last week argued CAB3 would ease pressure on the Treasury. Scrapping the 2028 general elections, Chinamasa said, would redirect billions budgeted for campaigns into “boreholes, clinics, and roads.”

CAB 3 seeks to extend presidential, parliamentary, and local authority terms from 2028 to 2030. It would stretch Zimbabwe’s electoral cycle from 5 to 7 years and hand parliament the power to choose the President, removing the direct public vote.

DANet, is a real estate company covering almost the country’s 10 provinces. The real estate giant has become an influential voice in recent policy debates.
