Winky D Leads Star-Studded Castle Lager Braai Fest Celebration

WINKY D brought his trademark stage presence to Glamis Arena in Harare on Saturday as music lovers and braai enthusiasts gathered for the Castle Lager National Braai Day Festival.

The Zimdancehall star’s performance was among the highlights of the annual celebration, which brought together live music, food and entertainment.

Dressed in a bright red hat and a red-and-black jacket, Winky D performed before a large crowd, with mobile phone lights illuminating the audience as the show continued into the night.

His appearance followed considerable anticipation after his name was initially missing from the festival’s advertised line-up.

The event, held on Saturday, also brought revellers together around one of Zimbabwe’s popular social traditions, sharing grilled meat, music and conversation.

Castle Lager Zimbabwe captured the atmosphere in a social media post celebrating the gathering.

“Good vibes, great company, endless laughter, and unforgettable moments! Everyone is out here living life, enjoying the music, and making beautiful memories,” the brand said.

The festival featured a programme bringing together established musicians and emerging performers. Winky D, ExQ and Enzo Ishall were among the headline acts announced by organisers, alongside Nutty O, Tammy Moyo, Jnr Spragga and the Chillspot Family.

DJs were also central to the entertainment, with DJ Nospa, L-Roy, Nikki, DJ Storm, DJ Loz, DJ Liz, Andreas and MadeHerBelieve included in the line-up.

The tenth edition introduced Castle Braai O’Clock, a new attraction designed to put grilling skills in the spotlight. Organisers had scheduled a braai master competition and interactive challenges between 3pm and 4pm, with merchandise and other prizes on offer.

The festival followed nationwide promotional activities at popular braai venues, where Castle Lager offered consumers opportunities to win tickets and prizes.

Organisers had priced standard admission at US$15, including a braai pack and one litre of Castle Lager Draught. The package placed the braai experience alongside the music rather than treating it as an added attraction.
