Chivayo upgrades Coach Rambo’s car gift to Fortuner, gives 49 bikers US$1,000 each
BUSINESSMAN Wicknell Chivayo has upgraded a recent car gift to soccer coach Ralph “Rambo” Matema from a Toyota Aqua to a Toyota Fortuner GD6 2.4D, and pledged US$1,000 each to 49 bikers who escorted Matema to collect the first vehicle.
Chivayo announced the upgrade on Facebook, saying he was “moved” by Matema’s gratitude after receiving the Toyota Aqua from Enterprise Car Sales.
He has instructed Matema to return to the dealership on Saturday to collect the Fortuner. Chivayo also pledged US$5,000 to Matema for fuel.
The Toyota Aqua will now go to Matema’s wife, Chivayo said. She will also receive US$5,000. He added that he would “assist with the bride price” if Matema intends to marry her formally.
Chivayo said the 49 bikers who accompanied Matema to collect the Aqua would each receive US$1,000 cash.
“True friends are those who celebrate the success of others regardless of how small the achievement may appear,” Chivayo wrote.
Chivayo has made similar high-value vehicle and cash gifts public on social media in recent months. He describes himself as a businessman and philanthropist.
Coach Matema could not be reached for comment by the time of publication.
