Mash West praised as ZANU PF conference prep hits 70 percent

MASHONALAND WEST has surpassed the 70 percent mark in preparations for the 23rd ZANU PF Annual People’s Conference, with the province receiving commendation for its resource mobilisation ahead of the October gathering in Chinhoyi.

The conference is scheduled for October 12 to 17 at the Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) grounds, with preparations now at an advanced stage.

ZANU PF National Chairperson Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, who is also Minister of Defence, expressed satisfaction with the progress during a preparatory meeting held at CUT this Friday.

“I am pleased with the progress that has been made. Preparations have now surpassed the 70 percent mark, and the report presented by Mashonaland West has already received favourable consideration by the Politburo,” she said.

Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri commended the province for its resource mobilisation efforts, describing it as an example for other provinces.
“The province has demonstrated outstanding leadership in resource mobilisation and has set a commendable example for the rest of the country,” she said.

She said the conference would focus not only on adopting new resolutions but also on assessing the implementation of previous ones, with accountability remaining central to the party’s programme.

Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri urged conference committees to execute their responsibilities efficiently to ensure delegates are properly accommodated.

Mashonaland West ZANU PF Provincial Chairperson Cde Mary Mliswa-Chikoka said mobilisation of additional resources was continuing, with catering arrangements progressing.

“Catering preparations are progressing very well, with the army and uniformed forces confirmed to undertake food preparations,” she said.

Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri was accompanied by members of the ZANU PF Politburo, including Political Commissar Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa and Treasurer General Cde Patrick Chinamasa.
