Lets pray for our leaders says ZCC Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi

MORE than 20 000 of Zion Christian Church (ZCC) members from across the world have thronged Defe Dopota Shrine in Gokwe South District for the Big Pulm Sunday service.
The service held to commemorate the passing on of the church founder Reverend Samuel Mutendi is being led by Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi.
The commemoration started at the biggining of last the month culminating in Bishop Mutendi leading the church members to climb the mountain at the shrine for a special prayer.
The conference, which runs from today to Monday next week, will be held at the ZCC headquarters at Defe Dopota in Gokwe about 25 km along the Chitekete-Gokwe Center road.
Addressing congregants gathered at Defe ZCC Conference, Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi said Zimbabwe should be prepared to pray for their leaders including the President.
He said, “If you curse your leader then know you have cursed yourself. Lets take time to pray for our leaders starting with the President of our country. Praying for leading will improve you socially and economically. (Hapana anoda kufa nezhara) No one wants to die of hunger.
He said today we must pray to end conflicts around society. No one is perfect but l urge everyone to embrace each other even the little the person does. Rather lets fight for our country and build a better Zimbabwe
ZCC Chairman Sanctions Mutendi said this year’s event will be bigger and better considering that the church has opened more new branches outside the country, including India,Turkey, Germany and United Kingdom.
“The Lord has continued to lead the Bishop Dr Nehemiah Mutendi’s church as seen by a number of projects and deliverance of followers. I invite people from all over the country and beyond to come and witness the work of the Lord.
“We expect fireworks as the man of God, Bishop Mutendi is expected to deliver a powerful sermon as usual,” said Mutendi.
He said on Sunday 10 August Bishop Mutendi will give the closing sermon.
“This year’s event has a lot to offer. As we continue to pray for those still on the road lets take this opportunity to seek God’s favour. As we wait for pascal, and the main event starting Wednesday up to Sunday 10th of August.
“As usual, there is going to be pascal beginning today evening marking the cleansing of everyone and repenting their sins. We are also expecting more senior government officials, yet to be advised, to grace the occasion,” said Mutendi.
More than 200,000 congregates thronged the magnificent church venue last year.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his Vice President Kembo Mohadi, Minsister of Defence Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri and other government officials attended the event.
Around morning 7:30 am the church recorded 192 buses as Harare Province lead with 64 buses 99cars, 70kombies and 23 lorries.
