CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe officially launched

A new chapter has unfolded in Zimbabwe’s automotive sector with the birth of CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe, a result of the strategic merger between Toyota Zimbabwe and CFAO Motors.

The union brings together two renowned entities, combining their strengths to create a formidable player in the country’s mobility landscape.

According to Carl Vargas, Managing Director of CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe, “CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe is the result of a merger of two local entities, Toyota Zimbabwe and CFAO Motors, to form a single united mobility company. We are proud to announce today that this has now been achieved in Zimbabwe.”

The new company, CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe, is poised to leverage the expertise and resources of its parent entities to drive growth, innovation, and customer satisfaction. With a focus on delivering exceptional mobility solutions, CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe is set to make a significant impact in the Zimbabwean automotive industry.

Vargas further explained, “Our vision is to be the leading Multibrand Automotive company in Zimbabwe offering Mobility solutions, driven by a unified team, focused on customer service excellence. We will operate as a single entity with two distinct business units: the Toyota Business Unit and the Multibrand Business Unit, representing Suzuki and Volkswagen brands.”

With a strong presence in the country and a commitment to customer service excellence, the company is well-positioned to meet the growing demands of the Zimbabwean market.

“The future is bright, and we look forward to rolling out our plans and introducing ourselves to Zimbabwe. To make Zimbabwe more Mobile. To do automotive excellence and mobility,” added Vargas.

The birth of CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe marks a new era of collaboration, innovation, and excellence in the country’s automotive sector.

Alexis Triniac, Toyota Business Unit General Manager at CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe said Toyota is the first Automotive brand in the world and in Zimbabwe, with a market share of 28%.”

“The Toyota Business Unit delivered 1,650 cars last year, including a range of models such as sedans, hatchbacks, SUVs, and pick-ups. The New LC Prado 250 was a notable success, with 200 units sold in 2024 and 150 units sold between January and July 2025. The business unit has also introduced hybrid models, including the Corolla Cross HEV, and is set to launch the new Hilux in the second half of 2026,” said Triniac.

“We have a strong presence in Zimbabwe, with a wide range of products and services that meet the needs of our customers.”

CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe’s MultiBrand Business Unit is revolutionising the country’s automotive industry by distributing two prominent global brands: Volkswagen and Suzuki.

“Our mission is to ensure these brands thrive by bringing an excellent level of choice, quality, and service to the Zimbabwean consumer,” said Lawrence Mawoni CFAO Mobility Zimbabwe MultiBrand General Manager.
