Raza Leads Mukuru-Backed Chevrons Against Australia

ZIMBABWE captain Sikandar Raza says his team will play with pride as they take on cricket giants Australia in a major T20 World Cup match in Colombo on Friday.

The Chevrons sponsored by Mukuru, the leading African financial services platform. This partnership will face one of the world’s toughest teams.

For Captain Raza, the world’s top-ranked T20 all-rounder, the game is about earning respect.

“We want to play an exciting brand of cricket and make our country proud,” Raza said.

He also told fans that the team is confident and “staying humble” as they focus on the game.

Head coach Justin Sammons wants his players to be brave. He knows Australia is a high-intensity team, and he wants Zimbabwe to match that energy.

“I want the guys to express themselves,” Sammons said.

“I don’t want them to go into their shells. Smaller teams have done well lately by playing a fearless brand of cricket, and I want our guys to do the same.”

The team is also drawing inspiration from the past. Back in 2007, Zimbabwe shocked the world by beating Australia in a T20 World Cup.
