Mukuru doubles down on Zimbabwe Cricket as Road to World Cup 2027 continues

NEXT-GENERATION financial services platform Mukuru has reaffirmed its commitment to Zimbabwean sport, extending its official partnership with Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) all the way through to December 2027, right through the country’s biggest cricketing moment in a generation.

Mukuru will continue as front-of-jersey sponsor for the Zimbabwe Senior Men’s National Cricket Team across all international formats, keeping the brand front and centre as the Chevrons chase glory on the road to co-hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 alongside South Africa and Namibia.

It’s the next chapter in a Road to the World Cup story that’s as much about people as it is about cricket, creating fresh ways to engage fans, celebrate Zimbabwean excellence, and inspire communities at home and across the diaspora.

“This renewal is about more than sponsorship visibility. It is about investing in a partnership that brings communities together, celebrates Zimbabwean excellence and creates meaningful connections with fans,” said Mukuru spokesperson Kevin Nyakotyo.

“Zimbabwe has been part of Mukuru’s story for more than two decades, and this partnership reflects our confidence in the country’s future. Cricket has a unique ability to unite people across borders, aligning perfectly with Mukuru’s purpose of connecting communities through trusted financial services.”

Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni echoed the excitement, calling the renewal a vote of confidence at a defining moment for the game.

“Their continued support comes at a defining moment for Zimbabwean cricket as we build towards hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2027,” Makoni said.

“This renewed commitment gives us confidence to continue investing in the game, strengthening our national teams and creating memorable experiences for our supporters, while showcasing Zimbabwe on one of cricket’s biggest stages.”

First launched in 2024, the Mukuru-ZC partnership now enters an even bigger phase, one that will carry Zimbabwean cricket all the way to the World Cup stage.
