Two City of Harare Workers Die in Sewer Plant Tragedy

TWO employees of the City of Harare died on Thursday morning while carrying out duties at municipality’s sewer treatment plant in Glen View.
In a statement, the Municapal Workers Union of Zimbabwe (MWUZ) Chairperson George Matongera described the incident as “unfortunate and tragic” and confirmed investigations were underway.
MWUZ extension its deepest condolences to the families of the two and we promise to get to the bottom of the matter, the statements read.
Details surrounding the deaths remain unclear but city authorities said they are working closely with regulators to establish the cause.
The names of the deceased workers have been confirmed by MWUZ and these include Peter Mupinga aged 41 years and Stephen Mangombe aged 51 years.
The most touching point is that, these employees lives was cut short and they have gone for good but without enjoying their July 2025 and August 2025 salaries a thing that is painting a gloomy picture across the entire workforce.
