DELTA Beverages, through its flagship brand Castle Lager, has donated hospital beds to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital in a move aimed at strengthening Zimbabwe’s public healthcare system.
The handover ceremony, held on Wednesday, marked the start of a nationwide programme that will see 100 modern hospital beds distributed across all 10 provinces.
Company officials said the donation fulfils a commitment made during the 10th anniversary of the National Castle Lager Braai Day celebrations.
“This is our way of giving back to the communities that continue to support us,” Delta Beverages said in a statement.
“We are committed to investing in the well-being of Zimbabweans and supporting national development.”
The initiative will benefit major health institutions across the country, with Sally Mugabe Hospital as the first recipient.
Hospital officials, led by Chief Medical Officer Mr Mungani and Clinical Director Dr Chifamba, welcomed the donation, describing it as timely support that will improve patient care.
Delta Beverages said the beds form part of a wider effort to support public health facilities and ease pressure on the healthcare system.
The company also paid tribute to healthcare workers for their dedication, saying the donation recognises their continued service.
The programme is expected to roll out to other provinces in the coming months as Castle Lager extends its community initiatives.
