Mash West and Mat North Crown Provincial Dance Champions

DANCERS brought their best to the stage at the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival provincial finals in Matabeleland North and Mashonaland West on Saturday.

In Hwange, the crowd was on its feet as Imvimbi Arts from Victoria Falls took first place with a powerful performance of the Umzansi dance earning a spot in the upcoming national finals.

Second place went to another Victoria Falls group, Amakhosikazi, who impressed with the graceful Isitshikitsha dance. Ingugama Dancers from Tsholotsho claimed third place and also exhibited the deep cultural roots of the region with their Isitshikitsha dance.

Meanwhile, over in Banket, the Mashonaland West finals saw Katawa Traditional Dance claimed first place, Zhandu Kunyandu secured second place with their strong Dinhe performance. Rimuka Stars from Kadoma danced their way to third place, exciting the crowd with the vibrant Zambia Nyau.

The Chibuku Neshamwari Festival continues to celebrate Zimbabwean culture and dance, with provincial winners now preparing for the national finals on 19 July.
