IN a significant move towards promoting sustainable development and responsible investment, Zimbabwe’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion, David Mnangagwa, has introduced mandatory Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting for companies listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) and the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX).
Speaking at the launch of the SEALL ESG Reporting Platform in Harare Thursday, Mnangagwa emphasized the government’s commitment to sustainable development and global transparency standards.
“We are committed to ensuring that our businesses operate in a responsible and sustainable manner, and ESG reporting is a critical component of this,” Mnangagwa said.
The SEALL ESG Reporting Platform, a cloud-based system designed to simplify ESG reporting and track performance, will support companies in meeting the new regulatory requirements. This initiative is expected to drive sustainable growth, improve transparency, and enhance accountability in Zimbabwe’s business landscape.
