Lowveld Show Society Calls on Businesses to Capitalise on Trade Opportunities at 2026 Agricultural Show

BUSINESSES from across Zimbabwe have been urged to secure exhibition space at this year’s Lowveld Agricultural Show and Trade Fair, with organisers describing the event as a strategic platform for investment, networking and unlocking new markets in one of the country’s fastest-growing agricultural regions.

The annual exhibition, which has become a key fixture on Zimbabwe’s agricultural and business calendar, will be held from August 6 to 8, 2026, at the Chiredzi Showgrounds under the theme, “Harnessing the Lowveld’s Agricultural Potential for Sustainable Growth and Value Addition.”

The show is expected to bring together exhibitors from the agriculture, manufacturing, mining, tourism, financial services and small-to-medium enterprise (SME) sectors, providing opportunities to showcase products, build business partnerships and explore investment opportunities within the Lowveld.

In an interview, Lowveld Show Society Secretary General Tawanda Chitete said this year’s edition presents far more than a traditional exhibition.

He said the event offers businesses an opportunity to position themselves in a region that continues to experience growth in agriculture, agro-processing and enterprise development.

“The message is simple; make hay while the sun still shines. This year’s show is not just another calendar event, but a platform that presents high-value opportunities for investment and profit-making in the Lowveld, particularly within the sugar industry as well as the rapidly growing MSME sector in Chiredzi,” said Chitete.

He said the Lowveld has become one of Zimbabwe’s key economic hubs, driven by its strong agricultural base and strategic location.

According to Chitete, the region’s expanding sugar industry, commercial farming activities and growing number of small businesses make it an attractive destination for companies seeking to grow their market presence.

“The Lowveld is now the greenbelt of our country and one of the major drivers of economic growth outside the mining sector. Its proximity to Beitbridge and Sango Border Posts gives businesses a significant advantage in accessing regional markets. That is why it is important for companies to come and exhibit, promote their products and establish themselves in the Lowveld market,” he said.

He added that the sugar industry remains one of Zimbabwe’s largest employers and continues to stimulate economic activity throughout the region, creating opportunities for businesses across the value chain.

Beyond the exhibition halls, visitors can look forward to a packed entertainment programme featuring horse riding displays, Zimbabwe Republic Police demonstrations and performances by a guest artist, whose identity will be announced closer to the event.

Chitete said the show is designed to benefit not only exhibitors but also members of the public, entrepreneurs, farmers and investors by creating a space where ideas, innovations and business opportunities can be shared.

“For the public and entrepreneurs, this is an ideal platform to exchange knowledge, business ideas and experiences that contribute to growth. It is also an opportunity to tap into the sugar industry value chain and explore partnerships that can unlock new opportunities,” he said.

Over the years, the Lowveld Agricultural Show has grown from a traditional agricultural exhibition into a multi-sector trade fair, reflecting the region’s expanding role in Zimbabwe’s economy. The event continues to provide a platform for showcasing agricultural innovation, promoting local industries, encouraging investment and strengthening linkages between producers, processors and markets.

Organisers say preparations for this year’s edition are progressing well and have encouraged businesses, institutions and entrepreneurs who are yet to book exhibition space to do so early on lowveldshowsociety.org.zw in order to take advantage of one of the country’s premier regional trade and agricultural exhibitions.
